West end of the station and looking quite dapper in its lined black livery.
Incidently it is not carrying express lamps. One was showing a red whilst the other showed a white. This was a unique code for shunting engines that did a lot of reversing of direction such as in a station area. This saved the fireman having to jump down to alter the lamps every time. Unfortunately even today one finds periodicals and books with the lamps described as express passenger.
